Jupiter sera visible en deuxième partie de la nuit. La planète géante se lèvera à 1h54 UTC le 1er novembre et à 00h22 UTC le 30 novembre. A gauche est reportée l'élongation ( en rayon de Jupiter ) des Satellites Galiléens depuis Jupiter. L'animation de droite montre le mouvement des satellites pour le mois de novembre: Io ( I ), Europe ( II ), Ganymède ( III ) et Callisto ( IV ). Remarquez aussi l'évolution de l'atmosphère de Jupiter.
Saturne ne sera pas observable ce mois-ci puisque le 29 novembre la planète aux anneaux sera en conjonction avec le Soleil.
Les Hyades, le V de la tête du Taureau, est l'amas ouvert le plus proche du Soleil, puisque se situe à seulement 150 a.l., et il est âgé de 650 millions d'années environ. Par son extensions de 330', l'instrument idéal pour l'observer est la jumelle, que permet de voir l'amas dans son intégralité. Il est constitué d'étoiles à forte métallicité, dont le plus lumineuses portent la lettre de Bayern (γ, δ, ε, θ Tau) et sont des géantes oranges. M44 et les Hyades ont le même âge, le même mouvement propre et même métallicité et les scientifiques soupçonnent qu'il se sont formés dans la même région de la Galaxie. Aldébaran, l’œil du Taureau, ne fait pas partie de l'amas.
